Travels with the N800: Installing a Bible (Part 2)
So I connected to the N800 via Bluetooth to my phone and proceeded to download Rapier via the Application Manager (neat feature by the way). No dice. The download didn't finish.
Because I was on a call while downloading, I just attributed it to me doing a lot on the phone and just needed to try it again. So I did...
5 times.
And each time the download failed at the very end of the download. I know that I am not doing anything wrong, so I pretty much planned to go another route. I would download Rapier directly to the device and then install.
So this I did. But what I downloaded wasn't the entire program, just a link to enable the Application Manager to install it. So the download started again, and failed again.
By this point it was nearly 1am and I needed to sleep (recovering from a cold and needing to go to work). So right now I am at an impass. How do I at least get Rapier installed? Thoughts anyone?

I installed rapier via the Linux command line on my N800. Drop in to #sword on irc.freenode.net sometime and i'll talk you through it.
Sounds like fun but then i need to learn my way to irc chatting; that's something I haven't done in many years. I will probably just try again but from my desktop connected to the n800 instead.
Can someone post a step by step on how to install Rapier via the command-line please?
I am still unable to install and have used several other methods. However, I am not skilled in doing anything via the command line, and hopefully this can get me to learning how to get rolling with it. Thanks in advance.
@Antoine-
Don't know if you found this or not, or if it will help, but I just found this link:

Thanks Jon;
That's the link and site that I've been using, but so far not successful with things. Going by command-line seems to be the route that will have to work best. Unfortunately, my schedule is too booked to do any kind of installing till the weekend, so this part of things will have to wait (again).
Its a bit frustrating on my end; but I'm pretty sure that this is just my initiation into the Linux world so I'm just taking it patiently and as things come.
I can relate to the "initiation" part. :-) This past June, I installed Ubuntu on my Mac just to see what the fuss was all about, and rediscovered BibleTime (KDE-based Bible program). From that time forward, I determined to get BibleTime running on my Mac under OS X. It was a head-first dive into the world of unix, and it was _quite_ frustrating! I finally succeeded, however, late autumn, in getting BibleTime running in the X11 environment on my Mac! Trust me, the frustration was worth it all! For one thing, I feel confident to be able to use the N800 to its full capabilities. Not only that, but my efforts have opened up to me a whole new world of software that I never would have been exposed to, or be able to use in OS X only.
So, while it may be a brutal initiation, just think of the long-term benefits. BTW, it took me so long to get BibleTime running, because, like you, it all to frequently had to wait. :-)

P.S. Sorry that the link was one you already knew. I feared that, but wanted to post, just in case.
Can you use a wireless router connection (a friend's if you don't have one) to get online?
That's how I installed Rapier on my N800/OS2008.
Yes Terrance; any wifi connection can work towards installing Rapier.
I had to change my device into Red Pill mode for it to install; and so far, its ok.
