Probaby one of the most spoken about topics in terms of PDAs, mobility, and Christians is that of Bibles. There are tons of translations, study variants, lexicons, and other resources available on the paper side of things. But when one goes to mobile devices, the options become very limited. And for many, things get even worse when you want a Bible but it is not available for your particular device, or previously purchased/downloaded Bible software. So what is a person to do? It is very inefficient to ask people to download and install to their device every Bible Reader and resource reader so that they arer covered. For one, its quite expensive, and then secondly, it is just not user friendly. And when it comes to mobile technology, that which makes an impression best is that software which is easiest to use within one's already formed opinions of how software is supposed to work.
"But Antoine, what is a person to do?"
There are a few ways to looking at this, and for the forseeable future there is not much that is changing., One, do your research on the respective Bible readers available if you have not already gone to purchase a mobile device. Knowing the software that is out that can help lead you into making a "better for you" hardware purchase.
Second, there are many free resources available in which you can download to your computer and then change into a format that is best for your mobile device. Just be sure that the user agreement for that software or website allows for this (stay in the law of the land as well as the law of God here).
Third, if something is not available from a software company in whom you have already purchased something from and are using, email the developer and ask if they would be willing to or have plans for offering that resource. If possible, post to their support forum, or find user groups (Yahoo, Google, etc.) that might have users who have the same questions. A voice united is much more likly to be heard.
Finally, don't let cost keep you from finding some biblical resource for your mobile device. From Bible+ to offerings by Olive Tree and Laridian, there is a ton of free stuff for nearly every mobile device.
So go get your Word and read already, God wants to chat to ya anywhere :-)
