Earthcomber Launches Windows Mobile Version and More
Earthcomber is today announcing its launch on the Windows Mobile platform, offering travel and shopping guides that point you to nearby locations that match your personal "look list." Your Earthcomber map (free) shows you where you are at and combs the surrounding area to find stores, restaurants, hotels, natural and historical landmarks, ATMs, etc. You tell it what you want and how far to look and it will find it for you. We call it the ultimate "favorite things finder."
There are also "spot guides" from such publishers as Where to Wear, Damron, Exxon Mobil, and Avalon, that offers layers of excellent pointers to make your trip complete. If you're hungry for BBQ, it can not only tell you where to find it, but can tell you if the pulled pork is better than the brisket. If you're shopping for evening wear, it can offer you complete reviews of nearby retailers who carry the best lines.
From the press copy:
Earthcomber supports devices based on Windows Mobile 2003 and newer WindowsMobile versions. Spot Guides are available at publisher sites or on www.earthcomber.com. Free Earthcomber software, service and mapping are available at the company web site and many download sites on the web.
Pretty neat software if you ask me. And if you are on the go, or one who travels to new places frequently and needs a bit more than just a map to where you are going, Earthcomber is some really great software. Give it a try and let MMM know how it works for you.
