Laridian releases four New Bible Reference

In catching up with news, found this one at Laridian's website:

September 7, 2005 - Laridian® announced today the release of the New Bible Commentary, New Bible Dictionary, New Dictionary of Theology and New Dictionary of Biblical Theology— four leading Bible reference titles for use with MyBible® 4, its software for Palm OS®. These four titles add to the growing list of Bible study resources available for MyBible 4.

I got this as the set. I was painfully devoid of reference works with MyBible before. Was not sure what it would be like, but I'm quite impressed. The commentaries have a heart, but are scholarly. The interface is still MyBible, so it's not perfectly integrated and parallel view of text/commentary on a Treo is a bit painful. Still, a great investment.

One thing to keep in mind... MyBible and Laridian doesn't seem to allow moving reference works from the PalmOS to WinMobile versions. You have to repurchase (although they will offer a small discount if you contact them.) So with the uncertainty of the future of PalmOS, if dollars are really tight you might want to wait to see what happens. I expect PalmOS to do well, but you never know. My personal feeling was that the use I get even with my current device justifies it. But if I go back to Win Mobile I don't think I can bear repurchasing once again, so at that point I'll probably stick with something like eSword.

I'd be interested in what other people think of the reference set also...
