And What Do You Do?

Something that I have been wondering for a while, and even more than that I am asked, is about how many people visit MMM's website. I dont really care too much about the numbers, as I understand that some days visits may be more than others. But, in trying to direct content, I am always thinking of where people who read MMM come from, or what they do on a regular basis.

So I want to pose this question, in part to get to know YOU a bit more personally; but also to try to focus content towards your particular jobs, ministries, nations. What do you do? And feel free to be as descriptive as possible :)

Though this was originally posted on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, I wanted to repost it so that it would appear higher on the page, and also give others who might have missed this topic, a chance to contribute.

I'm an editor at MobileRead.com, and build decision support systems for a living. Have been a worship leader in various places in the past, and enjoy the occassional chance to preach or teach in any setting from nursing home to church service. I use my PDA (Treo 650) mostly for PIM functions and document reading at work. Mostly calendar and notes. At home for all kinds of more fun reading including devotionals on Laridians Daily Reader, music, and even videos. At church I use MyBible, but when I teach or preach I can't do that and still concentrate on the task at hand, so as much as I hate to admit it, I print everything out on paper.
Oh yeah... and I'm a big fan of your site!

I am the Executive Director of an outpatient community behavioral health center. I worship at a Church of God (Anderson) and teach an adult Bible study class. I use a Treo 650 and have Bible+, Bible Reader (Olive Tree), 5 different translations, 5 commentaries, 2 lexicons and Vines dictionary loaded. My PDA has become my single most indispensable Bible study tool. Of course I use the Treo for all of the usual day to day scheduling, tracking, organizing, etc. I also download several different newspapers through Avantgo on a daily basis.
Great site!

Love the blog Antoine! I Pastor a charismatic church in the Chattanooga, TN area. I dabble in a little real estate development and follow the UT Vols. My wife Kim and I have 5 children and homeschool them all. My tech passion is my Palm Tungsten | T3 coupled to a Sony T637 GSM/GPRS phone. My slave tech is a Dell Inspiron 5100 notebook.
Although, I periodically load others my Bible software is Olive Tree with a load of resources. As recently posted, I test the waters with PDA preaching most times, but fall back into Analogville when circumstances warrant. :-)
My online base is over at PIC and they have yet to ban me, but I check here daily because it is unique.

I am a general manager of an automotive service franchise. Before my current occupation, I served as a full time missionary/minister in the Philippines for 15 years before returning to the good 'ol US of A last August. I have a Zire 72s. The Palms I've used over the years have been essential tools whether on the mission field or aiding in running a business. As far as Bible-related apps go, I use Laridian, OliveTree,eBible4Palm,Bible+, MyVerses, DailyReader and BDicty. I love beta testing apps or games...it just feels good to be a part of a creative process in some way. I have a "Miss Universe" for a wife and a "Mr.Wonderful" for a son. My hobbies include comic books, Palm stuff and sports...oh, I love to read as much as possible. Go Raiders!

I'm a machinist with Alcoa ; married to a wonderful lady and have 2 almost grown kids. I've been involved for several years in church theatrical productions and manage a scene shop where volunteers create & build scenic elements for all kinds of events. There is no way for me to stay organized & in touch with so many people except for the Treo 600 with contact lists, calendar functions & Snappermail. By the way you have a great site. Thanks & God bless.

Well... maybe I'll also add my little footprints on this website.

Great website! And I'm currently a medical student in Australia, originally from Malaysia and studied+worked in USA as an electrical engineer for several years (motorola!)...

I use BibleReader+ from OliveTree with ESV and NLT. I use MyBible (NIV Deluxe package). And I use EBible for Palm. Gah. Lots of money spent, but hopefully they will spur me on to read the Word!

Sounds like I need to take a look at Bible+ ;)

Well I am an Active duty Sailor in the United States Navy. I am the pastor of my church ( at home, currently just the wife and 2 girls however I think we may be working on another member in the near future ;) ) But seriously I attend a christian church and dont have any leadership position other than the one I have at home. My first PDA was a Toshiba e 740 and I used that little brick until it broke finally after 4 years of use. I currently own an Axim 51xv and although I wanted a Treo 700 originally however I didnt want to wait until June for Sprint to offer it and didnt want to use the palm version because I have so much money in programs for the pocket pc. I use the axim to orginize my thoughts, life and really only decided to buy a new PPC when my Laridian bible stopped working. I have many Laridian comentary's and also own E-sword with many bibles and commentaries loaded in it as well. My PPC is my primary scheduler, email reader, book and bible study. I was drawn to the site when I did a Google of Philip Yancey and read the interview you had with him, well done btw. I Love the site but would ask that if you or anyone uses Laridian or E-sword, maybe you can or someone write an article of how to use it best to study. I feel overwhelmed sometimes by the features and get lost in all the things it can do. In any event, great blog, I read it daily and keep up the good work !
