What's In Your Pocket?

PalmSolo asked this on his site and I thought it an interesting enough question to ask here.

So what do you carry on a regular basis? For me, its my T5 and sync cable, my Sony Ericsson T616 and wired headset (lost the ear piece for the BT headset), and my wireless keyboard for my T5. I really try to get about carrying as little as possible since I am usually in front of a worstation and can use this. But it comes in handy to have those things during meetings and the like when I get a tich occupied.

So tell MMM; what's in your pocket and how do you use your devices?

I carry a Treo 650 plus a headphone adapter in my pocket.(To use with headphones at work or home, or to use with a cassette car adapter kit in the car.)

Sometimes also an extra 1 gig sd card in the plastic storage container. That extra sd card has mp3s on it. And sometimes even a pair of earbuds also.

But often, now, because of my expensive, slow and limited data plan with Verizon, and because of the small screen, I wish I had my old camera phone on a belt clip plus a nice LifeDrive in my pocket instead.

OK, here goes the list. I daily carry my Motorola MPx220 (W/ shared 512 card), Dell x50v, sync cable for my phone and sync and charge cradle for my Dell. Along with that I carry an 4 gb Ipod Mini and ear buds. To top it off when my wife doen't have a pocket I'm carrying her Motorola v551. At times I still have to find room for my sons Nintendo Gameboy when suckers me into carrying it for him, (Or I just want to play it)

Oh yea, I forgot, this is not a techno gadget, but I also have a pocket knife that goes on my belt

Keeping my belt company each day are my trusty T|E, my digital voice recorder and my Motorola V265 cell phone. I have a great carrying case that holds my E and voice recorder inside and my cell phone on the outside. So far so good for this tech addict. :)

I carry only my keys and wallet in my pockets;^)

I have a Zire 72s on a great, leather holster that I bought online. Great for when you need to view your Palm quickly. Also, I have my Motorola on my belt hook. When I was a full time missionary, the Palm was an exceptional tool for counseling and preaching. There were a couple of times, I had to preach from my Palm because I forgot my lesson notes in another Bible or my printer broke down. I had to be particularly shrewd in public displays of high tech in a third world setting. If I was preaching to a group who didn't have the money to be tech savvy, my use of the PDA may come of as a bit intimidating or very boastful. And, in those instances where I had to use it while preaching to a large group, I would preface why I was using it so that this wouldn't serve as a distraction for people to assume I was a show-off rather than focusing on God's Word.

I use tons of great tools that I use to counsel others. Sure beats lugging tons of Bibles and other resources. I carry my song book, the latest news, the membership rosters, etc. I've influenced a small number of ministers to use this as an efficient tool to counsel and preach.

I pretty much "ran" my ministry using these two tools for God's glory.

Kevin A;

You make a great point about technology being intimidating to people. I know that when I first got my Palm IIIxe, it scared people. And it didnt help relations any in that I changed to a new PDA every year that did a ton more than before. I think the worst part for people was showing them the multiple bibles and dictionaries on one screen; after that I was officially labeled 'techie.'
