PDA247 and Addressing Christian Communication on the Web
Repost of my posting from PDA247 thread:
Hey there all;
Loved the email, it was truthful, if not a tick bad PR on Mary's part. If you are offened, you dont have to visit. At the same time, one is being called out on a moral (Christian or not, its a standard of communicative content) basis and so there is some response that could merit consideration for change.
My personal opion, PDA247 is not PA is not PIC is not Brighthand is not BargainPDA is not Mobile Ministry Magazine is not PDA247 (shameless plug for my site notwithstanding). One should not expect every site to fall cookie cutter. This is NOT the point of the commercial Internet. To expect as such, would be akin to expecting us Americans to make sense ;)
To Mary, and all others who think near/like her: I created Mobile Ministry Magazine in part to address those Christians who are mobile addicts but wanted a Christian perspective of mobile technology. That's the place to bemoan folks for a breach of Ephesians 4:29. Until folks come into the knowledge of Christ (repentance and acceptance) one cannot hold them to the same standards (read 1 Corinithians 2 and 3 to understand a tick more).
Now, if Mobile Ministry Magazine can become as newsworthy as PDA247 and personal as Palm Addict, and still maintain the mission for which I was called to create it, then it will. But even in reaching that, one should not compare it, for that is basically and apples and oranges connection.
